Due to intense poverty and the lack of economic opportunities, many young children are exploited in the sex trafficking industry. In the past, girls were often the ones targeted, but today young boys and babies are equally threatened. Cyber connectivity has moved the entire dark business to another frontier; children are told to take off their clothes in front of screens and to perform vile acts with their siblings. Babies as young as two months old are tied and gagged for sadistic thrills. The trauma often begins in their own home, at the hands of those meant to protect them.
